10 years of research is over! Fruit discovers that extend human lifespan by at least 20 years

In one study, researchers discovered important properties of blackcurrant and their effects on arterial health. According to Mark Willems, professor of exercise physiology, even a week’s intake can produce convincing results for overall circulation and help to turn back the body’s clock 10 years.

Professor Willems has been studying New Zealand blackcurrant anthocyanin since 2013, adding that it provides evidence that healthy circulation is key to longevity in maintaining optimal function of vital organs. The study, conducted at the University of Chichester, marked a major breakthrough in the compelling benefits of blackcurrant for cardiovascular health.

Researchers noted that taking black currant extract supplements increased blood flow to the main artery during muscle contraction by as much as 45 percent. Clinically significant changes were only observed from four to seven days. The blood flow enhancing effects were reduced to anthocyanins, which dilate the arteries, increasing circulation to muscles, tissues and other vital organs.

“We are just scratching the surface of anthocyanin’s significant potential to affect health over its apparent lifespan,” added Professor Willems. “Somehow, compounds in blackcurrant make the blood vessels healthier and younger,” explains Professor Willems. “It is an important finding that the ease of intake of black currant extract can act as a preventive medicine to have a beneficial effect on our blood vessels,” he said.

According to the professor, these compounds can act as a buffer against cardiovascular defects that contribute to high blood pressure. High blood pressure is often referred to as the ‘silent killer’ as it is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. It is the cause of numerous cases of heart failure, coronary artery disease, stroke, peripheral artery disease and vascular dementia.

Blackcurrant is a good source of potassium and linolenic acid, both of which have scientifically proven benefits for hypertension and cardiovascular health. Potassium can lower blood pressure, while GLA helps cells in the heart resist damage and slows platelet clumping in blood vessels. “We see in studies that blackcurrant has little effect on people with normal blood pressure,” says Professor Willems.

“However, in hypertensive adults, mulberry targets something that causes high blood pressure. But if there are no defects in the system, there is less for black currant. In addition, the best strategy is not to wait for high blood pressure to develop, and black currant is a healthy cardiovascular system.” “But in adults with high blood pressure, this fruit targets something that causes high blood pressure. But if there’s no defect in the system, there’s less for blackcurrant.”

However, he added that the best strategy is not to wait before developing high blood pressure to consume black currant, as it may help prevent it by supporting healthy cardiovascular function. Professor Willems’ research adds to a body of evidence supporting the use of black currant juice to lower high blood pressure in hypertensive patients. “We see in studies that black currant has little effect in people with normal blood pressure,” he added.
