Battery life Google Pixel Buds

Google promises 5 hours of music playback and 2 hours and 30 minutes of talk time for the Google Pixel Buds A-Series. The earbuds reportedly leave just over 50% charge during a phone call. Our battery test, on the other hand, offered a battery life of 4 hours and 44 minutes with continuous music playback at a below-average 75 dB SPL.

However, the earphone case supports fast charging: with just 15 minutes of charging, the earphones can get 180 minutes of listening time or 90 minutes of talk time. The Google Pixel Buds A-Series offer average battery life by wireless headphone standards as a result of our review. However, users can extend the battery life in a short time due to the fast charging feature of the case.

Audio performance of Google Pixel Buds

Review of Google Pixel Buds A Series

Google Pixel Buds A-Series offers a very affordable option in terms of price/performance compared to the previous Pixel Buds 2. While there doesn’t seem to be a major difference in terms of design, bass performance in particular has been improved thanks to the new tuning. For those who like electronic dance music, rap or hip-hop, the bass sound offers a very satisfying experience, while performing more balanced in rock or pop music.

Despite this, they still have a structure that can be uncomfortable with prolonged use. You may choose to use foam earplugs for more comfortable use, as the earphones need to put pressure on your outer ear to fit properly. Although the headset does not have active noise cancelling, the volume can be adjusted according to the ambient noise in the background.

In terms of battery life, the Google Pixel Buds A-Series offer slightly better performance compared to its predecessor Pixel Buds 2. According to Google, they offer five hours of listening time and two and a half hours of talk time. While they offer a total battery life of 24 hours in the earphone box, they offer three hours of use on a 15 minute charge with the fast charge feature.

In summary, Google Pixel Buds A-Series is a pretty good option with its affordable price, good sound performance and practical features offered by Google Assistant. However, there are better options for those looking for long-wearing comfort and active noise cancellation.

Google Pixel Buds design

Review of Google Pixel Buds A Series

You can tell from the outside that the Google Pixel Buds A-Series are completely wireless earbuds with an aesthetically almost space-age design. On the other hand, it can be said that this series does not differ much from its predecessors.

The cover itself is super smooth and egg-shaped and fits perfectly in your hand or pocket. Headphones, on the other hand, are incredibly small and stay in the ear with the help of a small tab that rests on the outer ear. How comfortable the prongs are can vary depending on your ear, but we’ve noticed they stay on the ear a little better compared to the Pixel Buds 2, thanks to the new stabilizer curtain.

The new Pixel Buds also have an air vent on the back of the earcups which, along with the stabilizer, helps relieve pressure build-up. This small change will especially help if you are sensitive to pressure.

To operate the earbuds, all you have to do is touch the side. One touch plays or pauses the music; tap twice to the next song; and three taps rewinds. Once paired with the Android device, you can press and hold it to bring up the Google Assistant. Unfortunately, the Pixel Buds A-Series don’t have an option to raise or lower the volume with touch gestures, but Google Assistant is usually useful to solve this problem.

Google Pixel Buds price

Review of Google Pixel Buds A Series

The Pixel Buds A series have been among the most affordable and high-quality wireless in-ear BT headphones in their class since launch. Also, the model is priced much cheaper than the previous Pixel Buds 2. For up-to-date information on Pixel Buds prices, you can browse the deals by clicking the links in our content.

Compared to its competitors, the Pixel Buds A series are one of the brand’s more affordable true wireless earbuds. Yes, there are plenty of good off-brand headphones out there, and they beat the Pixel Buds A Series in terms of value, but Apple, Beats or Bose are unlikely to find true wireless headphones at this price point.

Google Pixel Buds user reviews

👤 Just touch the side to operate the earphones. One tap starts and pauses the music; tap twice to the next song; and three taps rewinds.

👤 Unfortunately, there’s no way to raise or lower the volume using touch gestures on the Pixel Buds A-Series, but the presence of Google Assistant works to get around this problem.

👤 Pixel Buds A-Series are cheaper than other known wireless earbuds. Especially after the walks in Apple Airpods models, I ordered without thinking and I’m glad I bought it.

👤 It offers flawless sound experience. Probably the brands I could buy for this price were not very well known. Some unnamed brands may or may not exceed the Pixel Buds A-Series in terms of value, but wireless earbuds from brands like Apple, Beats or Bose will be hard to find at this price point.

👤 Pixel Buds A-Series don’t offer much of a difference compared to previous Pixel Buds, with a modern aesthetic of completely wireless earbuds. The auricle is quite smooth and egg-shaped. Honestly, it fits perfectly in your hand or pocket.

Our final decision

Review of Google Pixel Buds A Series

Google Pixel Buds A-Series was a headset that met my expectations. I was pleased with both the design and functionality. Mainly because the earphone box is small and light, it is easy to carry anywhere. Thanks to the touch controls of the headphones, actions such as stopping or skipping music are quite simple.

I’ve used a lot of different headphones, and my favorite feature of the Pixel Buds A-Series is the high-end audio performance it has for this price. Enabling Bass Boost mode made music feel fuller and more powerful. Another important point for me was that the connection between the headset and the phone was quite stable. This allows me to listen to music undisturbed for hours.

Pixel Buds A-Series do not cause problems such as sweating in hot weather while using headphones. This makes them ideal headphones to use during sports or in humid weather. The Google Assistant feature also allows me to respond to messages I want to reply to before I even touch my phone.

All in all, I think the Google Pixel Buds A-Series are a pretty good pair of headphones with quality sound performance, user-friendly design, and an affordable price.
