The beta infection season begins with the ice cream season

Tutkun stated that “group A beta-hemolytic streptococci, colloquially known as “beta microbes”, are common infectious bacteria and said, “It is often said to be a virus, but this is incorrect; in fact, it is an extremely insidious and serious bacteria that causes tonsillitis. It can cause inflammation of the skin (tonsillitis), pharyngitis, sinusitis, middle ear infection and pneumonia, and can also cause skin infections. It usually causes infection in school children in the 5-15 years age group. Scarlet fever is also caused by beta microbes. Beta microbe is spread through the air from person to person. and is transmitted through droplets. In case of close contact with infected people, this germ can be transmitted for reasons such as coughing, sneezing or being infected wounds on the skin. Beta virus is more common and spreads easily, especially during the period when schools being open and children being in close contact with each other. Beta germ is actually most common in the fall and spring. The variations in temperature in these seasons cause the spread of this microbe. In the summer months, however, the incidence of beta infection is almost explosive. The main reason for this is the consumption of ice cream, which is especially loved by children, as well as other cold drinks and foods, and this affects our immune system. Beta bacteria quickly and easily become infected and settle in the throat due to the decline of our immune system. For this reason, we very often encounter beta infections in children during the summer months.

Regarding the symptoms of beta infection, Tutkun said, “Symptoms of beta infection can be listed as high fever, sore throat and headache, difficulty swallowing, cold, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. In the case of scarlet fever, a common red rash is also seen on the skin. The child with inflammation of the tonsils swallows and has difficulty eating, fever usually exceeds 38.5 degrees. In addition to a careful physical examination, throat culture or rapid antigen testing methods are used for diagnosis. during the examination, the tonsils and throat are examined for redness, swelling and white spots. In addition, swelling in the lymph nodes in the neck, scarlet fever. The rash is checked for the possibility of disease. If beta is found in the person, a course of antibiotics is started. is that the antibiotic should be used for the duration indicated by the doctor.

In beta infection, a single dose of penicillin injection or oral antibiotic should be taken for 10 days. Beta microbe starts off as a sore throat and if not taken into account can cause many permanent illnesses in individuals. Untreated or insufficiently treated group A beta-hemolytic streptococcal infections; It can cause heart and joint inflammation called acute rheumatic fever. When beta infection is not treated; diseases such as otitis media, sinusitis, throat abscess, lymph node inflammation, pneumonia (pneumonia) can be seen. In addition, serious health problems can occur in the future, such as joint rheumatism, heart rheumatism, kidney inflammation. Since beta microbes are often transmitted through the respiratory tract, contact with people with known infections should be avoided. It is necessary to be alert to the symptoms, to go to the doctor in time, taking into account simple sore throat, and to start treatment in time. In addition, students with beta microbes should definitely not go to school until they have recovered, and should stay away from social environments.
