Who is Niyazi Nefi Kara? Education, work and political life
Niyazi Nefi Kara was born on August 20, 1969. Nefi Kara, who hails from Antalya Manavgat, is a doctor who graduated from the medical school of Adana Çukurova University. Kara, who entered politics while continuing to work as a doctor, became CHP Antalya deputy in 2015.
Education and working life of Niyazi Nefi Kara
After graduating from the medical school of Adana Çukurova University in 1991, he completed his military service in Şenkaya district of Erzurum in 1992. Later, in 1993, he worked as a general practitioner in Karaisalı district of Adana. Between 1994-2000 he received his medical specialization training at Süleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery.
Niyazi Nefi Kara, who was a director of the Çukurova University Medical Faculty Students’ Association during his university years, is a founding member of the Lakes Region Neurological Sciences Association between 1994-2000 and a founding member of the Turkish Brain Research Association between 1996 – 2000.
He was a founding member of the Lake District Neurological Sciences Association between 1994-2000 and participated in the establishment of the Turkish Brain Research Association between 1996-2000. He also worked as a manager in the Health Workers’ Union between 2000-2004.
He worked as a specialist neurosurgeon at Aydın SSK Regional Hospital between 2001-2004 and at Denizli SSK Regional Hospital (Servergazi State Hospital) between 2004-2008.
Between 2008 and 2010, he worked as a neurosurgeon specialist at Antalya Medical Park Hospital. In addition, since 2013, Niyazi Nefi Kara has been Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Antalya Community Center and a member of the Board of Directors of the Antalya High School Alumni Foundation. He is a member of the Kemalist Thought Association, the Patient Rights Association and the Turkish Neurosurgery Association.
Between 2010 and 2015, he worked as a neurosurgeon specialist at Antalya Training and Research Hospital. However, on February 10, 2015, he had to resign from his position to run for deputy candidate of the Republican People’s Party in Antalya.
Niyazi Nefi Kara attended a closed lumbar disc herniation course in Essen, Germany in 2007 and has written many national and international health articles. In addition, his views on health policy are “People have a right to health, they will get it!” He expresses it in his columns that appear under the title in the Monthly Kaktüs Magazine.
Political life
Niyazi Nefi Kara was a candidate for deputy in Antalya from the Republican People’s Party in 2007 and 2011.
Passing Deniz Baykal in the 2015 elections, he became CHP Antalya’s deputy candidate and entered parliament after winning the election result.
